In many cases, the mask used is of course one of the most unexpected among the main characters and only thanks to the careful investigation of the investigator on duty is revealed the true identity of the ruthless murderess. In this regard, I wanted to point out a book from the legendary Agatha Christie in which the theme of the mask is used to perfection: A MURDER YOUR 'PLACE.
In a small village in the English countryside, the pace is slow and every event is now listed on the "North Benham news and Chipping Cleghorn Gazette", the local newspaper. One day, amidst the usual personal messages, I get an unusual announcement: "A crime takes place on Friday October 29 at 18.30 in Little Paddocks. Friends are requested to want to take note of this event that will never be repeated "... and that is what will happen.
The police are baffled by the incredible way in which the crime was committed. The solution of the case, for Miss Marple by auction is an incredible twist. Only the most attentive readers will matter to the little game of "letters" which is the weak point of the intricate castle inside which hides the true identity of the perpetrator.
Good reading.
