is wrong, the woman said to another che le aveva appena detto, buongiorno signora Bertani; non mi chiamo così, mi dispiace. Si, è comprensibile, siamo sempre tutti alla ricerca di un qualcosa meno invasivo e che dia il minor numero possibile side effects, then Ms. Bertani is always so attentive to all these things. I think I even left to drag her to some sessions of psychological help group that seems to be more optimistic, I went there only twice, just in these things that I've never believed, however, already seems to feel a bit 'better. Interestingly, she went on, I had never heard of, perhaps not so familiar with Mrs. Bertani he might have felt like telling me a thing. But it is certain that once the meeting to ask you something more. Yes, of course, it should do, "said the other, and surely she will speak in a more appropriate me, because it plays a role, so to speak, to coordinate between all of us, and we are already more than a decade to have a habit of coming every week. Of course, she said, and where you find yourself always in the same place or in different places? No, we simply use a conference room in the building of our headquarters, and in any case, at least for the moment, it's definitely more than enough for our needs. There is only a small share to be paid, just to cover expenses, but will tell all my best, Mrs. Bertani, definitely. It 's true, she said, now that I put this curiosity I do not see the time to meet her, however, I always stop to talk to her so willingly. It 's like the things he says are always the most appropriate subjects at the time or situation, has within him a sixth sense. Did you know that quite right, even for me so, "replied the other, the one that says Ms. Bertani is always appropriate, sometimes I trusted her more than myself. But now we must own that the greetings are already late, but rest assured, I will speak of her with no doubt Mrs. Bertani. Thank you, "she said, I now do not really see the time to meet them to ask for more explanation of all these things and explain how I did to have news. I really think it will be more than happy to have this meeting Mrs. Bertani. Then the greeting. Goodbye.

Sento la door opening, footsteps coming down the stairs, are at least two men. From where I'm hiding behind the pallet can see the last steps, armed individuals appear to have at least three other, looking around warily. I squeeze the AK-47 ready to fire, do not leave even one alive, I have to leave the field and climb the damn ladder. The three split up, one coming toward me, the other two disappear into the semi darkness ... I hear footsteps approaching , comes from the right side, I move to the left, look, the man stops. At a guess must be close to the pallet, diagonally opposite to where I am, steps over, it's best to wait, Aim, the man slowly begins to turn around at the checkout, I see the barrel of his gun check around the corner, I hold my breath ... suddenly it appears, holds the weapon with two hands, is taking aim but I can play advance ... the bullet of the AK 47's tearing apart the chest, blood splashes and fragments of bone marrow splash on the wall behind him, collapses like a marionette without wires, a pool of blood formed under his instantly body, the echo of the shot is still reverberating in the shed. I hear the shuffling footsteps of two other men who come back, I have to play on the surprise factor, I think I just have them at your sketch out firing, firing wildly, the first fall with his head crushed, the other manages to dodge the blow, he threw himself on the ground, takes aim and shoots grazed to a calf, I burn, the wound started immediately to bleed again ... shooting at him, I see the right leg that explodes, blood gushing from the femoral splashing, the man screams, the point is still my weapon against, this time ... I take aim and his head explodes. The road should be free now, I run towards the stairs, I'll throw back to another pallet to see if someone is targeting me ... I do not know how many men are still alive ... than Franky. With breath begins to think about how may get the facts ... after he killed that boy down to Perrineville Franky ran in Canada, is affiliated with a gang of traffickers and became the head ... but why lie to Mary ... because the staging of the call? Maybe because we believed him dead, why do not you ever were going to look at the bottom ... now is trying to kill me, but that did not have to like it ... knowing it! Suddenly, in full would silently feel Franky's voice, coming from the loft: - "So you no longer have any chance ..." Another voice , with a strong French accent interrupts him: - "Shut up dirty bastard Now it's time to call it quits, after we managed to kill that federal'll have your turn! " -" Do not make the slightest difference, you count the hours ... "A third voice intrudes : -" Hey boss I wonder how he did it, we also accompanied to the toilet, kept an eye 24 hours on 24 ... " breathed a sigh of relief, the head is not Franky French accent ... is that shit, they're really taking prisoner ... now we have to find out what's behind it. I go out of hiding, I reach the ramp, begin to rise slowly, very very slowly, I must not make me feel absolutely ... In the meantime I changed the magazine to the gun, I checked also that of 44, missing a shot. The French voice starts to speak: - "You should go see what happened, I do not feel anything down, they must have done it outside but I suspect that even if the kids do not pass well, have been fired at least 100 strokes! " -" I go again! " Arrival at the top of the stairs, I flattened against the wall, expect the door to open, while the man goes out I tripped, tumbles down the stairs, shot him a dozen of shots, when it comes on the back a good part of his body is reduced to a bloody pulp by the loft ready to shoot again, I just block. A fat man is holding a gun to his head Franky, looks at me with a grin, Franky has a pair of handcuffs ... - "Throw the gun or the asshole of your brain appears will be the dinner of the rats that infest this place filthy! " Franky looks at me ... appears ... look eloquent ... do what it says. I drop the AK-47 to land him away from me with a kick, the pig does not know about 44! Everything happens so fast that I can not realize anything, the Frog turns to me, holding me at gunpoint, began to bend down to pick up the gun, Franky suddenly gets up, hit him violently in the neck with both hands, the handcuffs they put almost KO, I pull out the 44, while I pull the trigger the fat tip against his weapon ... The shots were fired at the same time ... while I fly off his skullcap, I feel like a very strong blow on my front, I remain stunned for a moment, I see Franky rushing towards me, something is screaming, from the lip seems to me a NOOOOOOOOOOO! Liquid colarmi sticky start to his eyes, my legs give way, the impact with the floor is pretty strong, I remain motionless staring at the lightbulb on the ceiling, strangely I do not feel any pain ... Franky bends over me ... I see the movement in slow motion, I have no sound ... Franky Hands I stroked her hair, every now and then retract, which passed over his face smeared with my blood, then start stroking it again ... I see the tears that flow from his eyes, his lips are moving ... - "Do not die Joe, please hold on ... JOEEEEEEEE !!!!" So much the better brother, believe me, the better! I always feel colder, I sleep loooong sleep, Franky continues to cry, there's other men, some have divided the Canadian National Guard, the other bibs old Franky FBI ... I knew ... I knew that the brothers were in place ... no need for this? Begin to feel good, damn good, I prefer the bottom die in this way rather than in a hospital bed with a catheter inserted nell'uccello and a needle in my arm! Here they are my little friends, I see their shadows bobbing in front of me ... - "Time to go Joe!" - "The plan was successful!" - "Come, follow us Joe!" With great effort I can say - "Who are you?" - "You have not yet figured out Joe?" - "We are your conscience, you have just driven this far!" - "That evening, Joe, you let go your way brother, but the fault is not the most serious, is that you leave me alone ... " - "... to fight" Shit! "All you've done justice to the acts of Rock City, Mexico, offset that guilt ..." "... we have only shown you what you already knew ... from the sex shop on ... we're the good part of the monster you have invaded! " " ... our final task was reported here, Franky ... help settle once and for all your debt! " -" Time to go Joe ... ... " I feel cold, very very cold, my sffievolisce breath fades ... fades ... ... Franky is still kneeling, I can speak: -”Và da Maria… i ragazzi… un padre!” Franky annuisce, riesco ancora a chiedere: “Perché?” Federal Bureau of Investigation… agente speciale Franky Roberts… annuisco… ora posso crepare in pace!
CAPITOLO 19
For the truth is a long story but I think it's time to tell it, if only because it caused the tragic death of my brother Joe several years later. When I returned from Vietnam, I must say that I was rather shocked to find Mary married to my brother was really my girlfriend. Initially the pain was so strong that I began to drink in every country were convinced that I was crazy, that hell in Vietnam I would cut back like many other survivors, a dangerous element to society. I tried to get my life, but without a job and without Mary was really hard. Jason met a winter evening, we had been together in Saigon, I told him my misfortunes, told me that he entered the Bureau, who needed good people, he left me his business card. A few months later became a federal agent, assigned to undercover operations and in the meantime I had cleaned up, alcohol was only a bad memory. However, I continue to act like a nut not to arouse suspicions in the awarding of a contract pending. Finally I was put in contact with a gang of traffickers in Canada, with bases also in New Jersey: I would have to infiltrate and inform my superiors on all their activities ... I found that not only deals drugs, but also trafficking in arms and prostitutes. also managed to discover that their base of operations si trovava a Saskatoon ed iniziai ad andarci piuttosto spesso finché guadagnai la fiducia di Hector Marceau, il capo. In realtà, avessi avuto un barlume di lucidità avrei dovuto avvertire i miei superiori di tutto il casino e far put the children under protection ... but I did not. The famous night it happened that a member of the gang away recognized the two boys who were preparing to leave ... it happened in a room in North Perrinville ... began to undermine the girl to offend her, and said that if no date is gliel'avesse Course by Hector to blurt everything, including the fact that I had not completed the mission. George tried to react, there was a scuffle, George had the worst, he found himself with his skull smashed, I arrived after about ten minutes, the boy was already dead. I managed to tell me the little thing had happened, then I heard the siren in the distance my brother's car on patrol Joe. I told the girl to lie: "When the polziotto will ask who did it, you tell him he was Franky" It was the only way to sidetrack the investigation, even Joe the FBI knew of my work, thought I was still a pauper! Pursued by Joe managed to cross the border with Canada, reached the gang member who killed George and freddai with great pleasure, then I went to Saskatoon and from there I felt my superiors that I was ordered to remain there by continuing to provide information . Things went well for a long time, thanks to my straight, the FBI was able to discover and dismantle large drug trafficking and weapons. The thing must have suspicious that Hector began to watch their backs, in the end, somehow, found that there was a mole within the band and that the mole was me. So I switched to an agent of the Bureau informant informant Hector Marceau. After I was taken prisoner, rather than kill, I had to do a double game, have a radio installed in the base from which to speak directly with the District of New York, providing false or inaccurate information to my colleagues. Although I was controlled day and night, I managed to put the flea in the ear to the commander of the district ... when Joe arrived, even the 'FBI was already on the road ... Joe's death marked the rest of my life, I feel terribly guilty, I'm sure that somehow I attracted towards the end ... I must have heard my call ... I do not know how to explain ... between brothers is something quite normal after being taken prisoner ... I started to dream about the gang often, he must have sensed qesto dreams. He left Rock City and started on my trail ... hell ... it was my brother! I love you Joe, wherever you are you damn well want!

Highway Patrolman
My name is Joe Roberts; I work for the state. I’m a sergeant out of Perrineville: barracks number eight. I’ve always done an honest job; honest as I could. Got a brother named Frankie; Frankie ain’t no good.
Well ever since we were young kids, it’s been the same come down: I’d get a call on the shortwave; Frankie’s in trouble down town. Well if it was any other man, I’d put him straight away. But sometimes when it’s your brother, you look the other way.
Yeah, me and Frankie laughin’ and drinkin’; Nothin’ feels better than blood on blood. Takin’ turns dancin’ with Maria, While the band played “The Night of the Johnstown Flood”. I catch him when he’s strayin’, like any brother should. Man turns his back on his family, he ain’t no good.
Well Frankie went into the army back in 1965, I got a farm deferment, settled down, took Maria for my wife. But them wheat prices kept on droppin’, ’til it was like we’s gettin’ robbed. Frankie came home in `68, and me, I took this job.
Yeah, me and Frankie laughin’ and drinkin’; Nothin’ feels better than blood on blood. Takin’ turns dancin’ with Maria, While the band played “The Night of the Johnstown Flood”. I catch him when he’s strayin’, Teach him how to walk that line. Man turns his back on his family, ain’t no friend of mine.
The night was like any other, I got a call `bout a quarter-to-nine. There was trouble at a roadhouse, out on the Michigan line. There was a kid on the floor lookin’ bad, bleedin’ hard from his head. There was a girl cryin’ at a table: “It was Frankie,” she said.
I ran out and I jumped in my car and I hit the lights. I musta done about a hundred and ten, through Michigan county that night. It was down by the crossroads, out by Willow Bank. Seen a Buick with Ohio plates; behind the wheel was Frank.
Well I chased him through them county roads. ‘Til a sign said “Canadian border five miles from here”. Pulled over to the side of the highway, Watched the tail-lights disappear.
Yeah, me and Frankie laughin’ and drinkin’; Nothin’ feels better than blood on blood. Takin’ turns dancin’ with Maria, While the band played “The Night of the Johnstown Flood”. I catch him when he’s strayin’, like any brother Should. Man turns His back on His family, he is not no good. Written by Bruce Springsteen
I wandered aimlessly throughout the day, Saskatoon is a nice town, small, quiet, it's almost impossible to think that here too can be carried out criminal activities. I stop to eat a hot dog in a park clean and well cared for, the desire to pack up and leave again for a crack at Rock City is really cool, it was not for my brother! The sun begins to drop, I set out for the 3rd, I have to inject a dose of morphine into his appointment with my broker, I must act as soon as possible considering that my time is extremely limited, the monster inside my brain might decide to call it quits at any moment, in that case also Franky should be to hell! I go back to the hotel, I flush a little and prepare the injection ... the pain disappears immediately and I return to feeling pretty darn good! Waiting for the appointed hour, I put the AK-47 loading in the black market, go downstairs and go out the door reserved for staff. The porter is waiting for me, as I see nods his head to show me the way to go, we walk in the semi darkness up to a pick-up black, brand new, we climb on board, engine starts to rumble ... we leave. During the trip the man tells me his name was David Lagrange, a damn French, spoke with his friends who decided to listen to my proposal ... just to earn good nutshell would be willing to rape their mothers! Listening with feigned indifference, when it is night we arrived in what has every appearance of being an industrial area, we stopped in front of a warehouse, all around darkness and silence, we are waiting to take us inside the "den" no can enter. David lights a cigarette, groped decide to go for broke: - "Look mate, well I have to complete the deal, my bosses asked me to take back the American which is being held prisoner ... I have not said exactly what's wrong but combined they would make it disappear ... " -" I do not know what you're talking about, we have no American ... " -" Come on, is called Franky Roberts ... has cheated my band down to Rock City, California and deserves a good lesson ... "The Frenchman pulls increasingly cigarette nervously, looking tense, I sense it made to feel uncomfortable, look at him insistently ... - "Listen, friend, from which depend the boss gave me carte blanche in terms of money and I have also said that the U.S. is much ... I put it in the business ... " -" Wait a minute ... " He rushes down from the van, I see in the dark la sua ombra avvicinarsi al cancello del capannone, aspetto qualche minuto, poi uno spiraglio si apre, appare un'altra ombra... confabulano per un po'... il mangiarane torna verso il Pick-Up, risale, mette in moto. -"Adesso dove andiamo?" I'll just go back to the shed ... Franky and understand why it is so dangerous!
PART
The shed seems to desert, parking lot pick-up then doing a 'noise, they must believe that David has accomplished its mission, grabbing the bag with the AK-47, and pull it out of me I put the shoulder. I burrow under the seat, grabbed the crick, I get off the van and I went toward the gate ... look a few seconds then give a hit on the tin, the rest in silence, I hear footsteps approaching, fortunately, is a lonely man. Sounds of keys, a padlock and a latch, the gate is moving soon, flows leaving a small opening through which I see the silhouette of a Everyone ... - "David?" I say nothing, the gate opens a little more, is a good time, grab the handle and pull with all my strength, makes a lot of resistance, the man loses his balance, falls to the ground, his hand slips away from a gun do not look even a fraction of a second, I hold the strongest and the crick hit on the head, emits no sound, the blood begins to emerge immediately from the wound, try to get up but I hit him again, then again and again, the skull is final smashes, the body remains motionless in a pool of blood and brains, and by the overpass in the shed ... I hope I have not done too much noise and above all I hope that damn Franky is here! Environment is huge, dimly lit, seemingly no human activity, I move cautiously, sooner or later someone will live ... nearly! Huge pallets are stacked a bit 'everywhere, over there are large cardboard boxes wrapped in cellophane, seem ready to ship. On the ground I see other boxes open, transparent with packages containing white powder, possibly refined heroin, the band makes it big! Behind a series of pallets I see a ladder ... leads to a loft closed by a window you see a light, someone must be there! I climb the stairs being careful not to make noise, I am the door ... before entering I want to know what awaits me ... perceive the sound of two voices ... I take the handle, the wheel slowly and peek from the window of opportunity ... the scene that I appear before me uneasy ... There are two men, one is sitting in front of a device, a transceiver, the other is behind him, seems to provide some guidance ... the man sitting is Franky! I probably sound, the man who stands spun around, pulls a gun, he rushes toward me ... open wide the door, pointed his gun and cold with a blow to the head of the decapitated net, Franky turns ... - "No Joe !!!!" not know where to check another man began firing wildly, I retire, I rush down the stairs, whistling around me prioettili agli orecchi... mi riparo dietro ad un pancale... sento la sua voce. -"Che cazzo hai fatto Franky?" -"Io niente!" -"Chi cazzo è quello!!!" -"Calmati... Ho detto calmati!!!!!" Rumori non identificabili -"Ok capo, mi calmo... mi calmo, ma devo andare a cercare quel bastardo!"
Arrivo a Saskatoon quando il sole è sorto ormai da un pezzo, percorro Idylwyld Drive; per essere una delle arterie principali della città il traffico è praticamente assente, il caos di Rock City quaggiù is simply a bad memory, everything is pretty darn neat, pretty darn clean, even Perrineville is so perfect. After some 'speed and take the 3rd Avenue North, I stopped in the motel that first meeting, I need to settle down a bit'. The head begins to ache and I think I'll have to shoot me a bit 'of morphine, the Chevy car and I reserve a room locked. I pull out the necessary, prepare a snare, and shoot myself in the syringe and the dose solution into a vein; as they enter into circulation the pain disappears and I feel strong and invincible like a lion. I opened the black bag, I pull out the 44, it is perfectly clean and lubricated, I take the bullets and load the magazine ... I'll have to brush up on my investigative skills but this time no one will be brought to justice, or at least not to the earthly. at the front desk of the motel, the goalkeeper is a seemingly disreputable type, has some eye-catching tattoos on his arms, he must have done in several years, could probably be useful to ask him, maybe you would know give me some advice. Maria talked about a drug, weapons and possibly prostitution, the guy seemed to know better about all three, perhaps part of the band. I decide not to put too much time in between, I approach the counter and start to fix it, he returns sostenedo my gaze quizzically. Extract wallet from his back pocket of his jeans, pulled out two tickets from one hundred and support them on display on the shelf, right in front of him: - "Spit friend -" I need some 'stuff' I say, as I add and Mooring I show him the sign just made the injection. looks at me dumbfounded: - "I could have sworn you were a guy, does not seem at all an addict ..." - "Appearances are deceiving ... so what?" - "I have some friends that deal with this type of goods, are the only ones in town, if you give me time I get in touch and let you have an appointment ..." "... that is fast, in my condition I can not wait." - "Let's do this ... put a cento more e. .." -"Molto bene..." Me ne vado abbastanza soddisfatto, al primo colpo sono forse riuscito a gettare l'amo, adesso devono abboccare i pesciolini. "Qualcosa" sta continuando a darmi una mano, ho imboccato la strada giusta, mi stopped right in the motel, I approached the right person ... coincidence? I leave the motel, I'll wait the return of the turn around this city without blemish, maybe I'll start looking for some dirty ugly and bad neighborhood ... as you like me!
